About Us

Our Roots
Nestled in the bustling street of 22 Murray Road, Workington, England, UK. Mama Ibeji’s story begins with a vision to bring the warmth and zest of Afro-Caribbean culture to your doorstep. Named after the Yoruba love of twins, Ibeji, symbolising joy and abundance, our founder, a spirited matriarch with a passion for her heritage, embarked on a journey to weave the rich tapestry of her ancestral flavours into the local community.

Tradition to Trend
With hands seasoned by tradition and a heart full of memories from her homeland, Mama Ibeji started by sharing the treasures of her kitchen, where every spice and herb tells a story. Her small stand of homemade delicacies soon blossomed into a vibrant grocery store. This place sells food and serves as a cultural haven for the diaspora and locals alike, seeking the authentic taste and communal spirit of the Caribbean and Africa.
